Welcome to the Midnight Opera “Olav Engelbrektsson” at Steinvikholm Castle! Steinvikholm Music Theathe has every year since 1993, produced the extensive out-door opera “Olav Engelbrektsson”. The Midnight Opera is a historic drama in the very place where it happened. Every year in August the dramatic national 16th century events are recreated. Norway’s last arch bishop built his residence and fortress at the innermost end of the Trondheim Fjord, and it became a centre of power struggle and love. There are more than 150 participants on the stage, among them some of the country’s finest singers and creative artists. In the castle ruins a magic adventure is created for thousands of audiences, returning year after year. Performances 2012: 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th and 18th of august.
